Raising the IT qualifications of Malopolska's inhabitants

Among the key responsibilities of the state is to provide mass education in the field of information technology (This applies at all levels of the education system including additional training of adults and those in danger of digital exclusion).

The project Raising IT qualifications of the Malopolska citizens lays the foundations of the IT aware society able to use IT in every aspect of social and professional life. The diagnostic and planning documents that will be the output of the project contribute to the creation of the overall range of educational courses corresponding to the demands of 21st century society. This range of educational opportunities on offer will include courses and training which really increase IT competence - from the basic to the expert level - in all social groups. IT competence is important not only because it contributes to the equal chances on the labour market, but also because it enables full participation in all dimensions of social life. It is assumed that thanks to the project, a system maintaining ever rising IT competence among Malopolska's inhabitants will be created. Furthermore, high standards of IT education will be developed and then implemented in the region's institutions of higher education (This particularly concerns degree programmes in engineering and computer science). This will lead to the creation of a well-qualified labour force that can guarantee the economic development of Malopolska.

Carrying out the project is an important step towards the development of the Małopolska Region's inner potential.
